My books
I am writing to find out what I think.
Joan Didion
I am originally a writer, having studied screenwriting and dramaturgy at the Film School in Babelsberg, graduating with a diploma. I taught there for many years as a lecturer in media dramaturgy and worked very successfully as a screenwriter and dramaturgist in the television industry, until I had to completely reorient myself after two serious illnesses. My second non-fiction book on the subject of horses will be published shortly.
A foundational work on the nervous system,
stress reactions and trauma-informed horse training
This book opens up a new perspective on training and being with horses: moving away from pure behaviour correction, towards understanding stress, safety and regulation.
The focus is on a trauma-informed approach, which explains how experiences are stored in the nervous system and shape behaviour long-term. The book clearly illustrates how attachment forms – and what happens when it is disrupted.
It explains how stress responses work and how they manifest in training, and highlights how self-regulation and co-regulation shape the work between humans and horses. Furthermore, it shows how trauma occurs and how this can permanently influence behaviour.
The horse's expressive behaviour is used as a central access point in order to be able to react appropriately to the horse's internal states.
This book clearly and scientifically illuminates training methods from a neurobiological perspective, explains how horses react to the subtlest signals – right down to our heartbeat – and also addresses sensitive topics such as the early imprinting of foals' nervous systems by the practice of weaning.
Practical examples and extensive illustrations of horse behaviour make this book an indispensable companion.
Reflection tasks at the end of the chapter help to apply what you have read to your own horse. – For a respectful and harmonious partnership between human and horse.
A foundational work on the nervous system, stress responses, and trauma-informed horse training.
he book will be available in German in all bookstores from early June 2026. The English version is expected to be available in spring 2027. Follow me on Instagram to stay updated.
The Development of Sensitivity
In this book, the author uses her own experiences with horses as a relatable and captivating backdrop to explain how our inner states, emotions, and unconscious patterns shape our relationships with these highly sensitive beings. She demonstrates how appreciation, self-reflection, presence, and an understanding of energy and bodily memory can transform not only our interactions with horses but also our own lives.
This book is not another method, but a way of life. A guide to more conscious action, deeper understanding, and a new perspective on ourselves, our horses, and the world. Grounded in scientific sources and psychological insights, it fascinates and touches the reader at the same time. An inspiring journey into the art of feeling, perceiving, and being.
Everything is connected to everything else – how horses introduce us to a new perception of the world. (Only available in German.)
